Ab Astris

Ab Astris, meaning 'of the stars' in Latin, is a boutique winery in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Founded in 2018 by Erin and Tony Smith, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Mike Nelson, the family-owned winery features a tasting room, outdoor patio, and 12-acre vineyard with grape varieties including Tannat, Souzao, Clairette Blanche, Petite Syrah, and Montepulciano. They craft 100% Texas wines including whites, reds, and rosés all produced on-site.

Visiting Ab Astris Winery felt like stumbling upon a true hidden gem in the Hill Country. The setting is peaceful and intimate, with vineyard views and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the moment. There’s a strong sense of family behind everything, which gives the experience a personal, authentic touch.
